When somebody sees your ad on our card, the first thing most of them do is look you up. They want to see that you are real and what you do. Next comes roughly what it costs and how to reach you. If there is nothing to find, or what they find looks abandoned, a good share of them simply move on to the next business on the card.
A plain, clear website answers those questions in the thirty seconds people give it. It does not need to be clever. It needs to say what you do, where you do it, and how to get hold of you, on a phone, quickly, and it needs to still be there next year.
A do-it-yourself website builder costs less a month, and you build it yourself, and then you keep it running yourself, forever. This one you never have to touch. We write and build it. Then we host it and keep it secure and backed up.
Six pages come with it: home, about, services, areas covered, frequently asked questions and contact. Written from what you tell us about your business, not filled with placeholder text.
Use your own logo and photos, or we make a clean logo and an image for every page. Either way the site looks finished the day it goes live.
The site runs on your own domain, with an email address to match: hello@ your domain, forwarded straight to the email you already use. If you already own a domain, we connect it and check the settings first, so any email you already have on it keeps working.
Fast hosting, a security certificate so browsers show the padlock, and backups. Kept current by us, all year, without you having to think about it.
Change a price, a phone number, a sentence or a photo yourself, whenever you like, from a simple login. Nothing to learn and nothing that can break the site.
Terms, a privacy policy and an accessibility statement, so the site covers the basics that a business website is expected to have.
Local service businesses that are good at the work and have no interest in building websites: roofers, cleaners, lawn crews, pool services, salons, restaurants, contractors, practices. Businesses that either have no website at all, or have one that was put together years ago and now says the wrong phone number and a price from before the pandemic.
If you enjoy tinkering with a website and want to control every pixel of it, a do-it-yourself builder will suit you better, and we would say so. This is for the owner who wants the site to exist, look right, say the right things, and never be on their list of jobs again.
Most people do not act on the first card they see from a business. They see it and maybe keep it. Later they look the business up. That look is the moment a card either turns into a customer or does not. What turns it is a site that loads quickly on a phone and says what you do, with a number to tap.
The web address printed on your ad on our card sends people there directly, and everything on the site points to the same thing your card does: call you, or send you a message. If you are not advertising with us yet, see how a slot on the card works on our advertise page.
Less than you think. The order form asks what you do and where you do it, and who your customers are. Then it asks what you want people to know and how they should reach you. Your services, with prices if you want them shown. Your logo and a few photos of your own work if you have them. Your web address.
Everything beyond the basics is optional. If you do not know your brand colors, we choose them. If you have no logo, we make one. If you skip a question, the site simply does not say anything about it - we never fill a gap with a claim you did not make, because a website that promises more than a business does is worse than one that says less.
The questions matter more than the answers look like they do. What makes you different from the other businesses in your trade nearby, which neighborhoods you actually want work in, what a customer should do first - those are the details that make a page read as though somebody who knows the business wrote it, because somebody did: you, through the form. We turn them into clear sentences, arrange them into pages, and make sure the phone number and the call to action are never more than a thumb away on a small screen.
Once it is live, the site is yours to change from your login, and your account page shows your renewal date and lets you update your card at any time. To see what a slot on the card itself costs, look at our pricing page, or read how the card works from start to finish.
One form covers it. Tell us what you do and where, and what makes you different. Add your services and prices if you want them shown, plus any photos or a logo. Most of it is optional. Anything you leave out, we simply do not claim.
We write every page, design it, and put it live on your web address within 24 to 48 hours of payment. We email you the link the moment it is up.
There is nothing for you to approve. Your site goes live as soon as it is built. If you see anything you want changed, tell us and we change it. Then it runs, all year, and renews on its own so it never goes dark.
Built to be found
People find a local business in three ways now. Some search on Google and click a result. Others ask a question and read the answer box that comes back. More and more ask an AI assistant such as ChatGPT to recommend someone. Every site we build is set up for all three from the day it goes live.
The groundwork that helps Google and Bing understand what you do and where. Each page gets a clear title and a short description, with one main heading at the top. A sitemap lists every page for search engines, and the site loads quickly on a phone. This is what earns a place in ordinary search results.
Answer engines give a direct reply instead of a list of links. Think of the box at the top of a search, or a voice assistant reading a reply aloud. They lift short, plain answers from pages that state facts clearly. So every site gets a page of real questions about your business, each answer leading with the fact.
Generative engines are AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI answers. They write a reply and often name the businesses they found. They can only mention you if they are allowed to read your site and can tell what you do, so we let the main AI search tools in and describe your business in facts they can repeat accurately.
When someone asks a phone or an AI assistant for a good plumber nearby, the reply is built from what it can read about the plumbers in that area. A business with no website, or one that is hard for a machine to read, is easy to leave out of that reply.
None of this guarantees a ranking or a mention, and nobody honest can promise one. Where you appear also depends on things outside your website, such as your Google Business Profile and your reviews. What we can do is make sure nothing on your site stands in the way.
Every page carries a hidden block of structured data, often called schema. It uses a shared vocabulary published at schema.org, which Google, Bing and AI tools all read. It states facts in a form a computer cannot misread, such as your business name and phone number or the towns you serve. Visitors never see it.
It is built from the same details as your pages, so the two always agree. Our launch checks also confirm that the phone number in it matches the one on screen. The last-changed date on each page comes from real edits, never faked to look fresh.
We never add review stars or ratings to it. Google treats a business rating itself as self-serving. Stars with no real reviews behind them are exactly the kind of claim we refuse to make.
Google measures how quickly a page appears and becomes usable, and slow pages lose visitors before they read a word. Before a site goes live, we test every page with PageSpeed Insights, Google's own tool, on mobile and on desktop. Each page has to score 100 out of 100 in all four categories. A page that falls short holds the launch until it is fixed.
Photos are saved in modern formats (AVIF and WebP) at several sizes, so a phone downloads a small one. Fonts are stored on your own site instead of being fetched from another company's servers. There are no plugins, page builders or add-on widgets, because each one adds weight and one more thing to keep updated.
Test scores can move by a point or two between runs, so 100 is the bar we build to rather than a number we promise forever. The site behind the score stays light and quick, and it is designed for a small screen first.
A website can block AI tools without the owner ever knowing, through a small file called robots.txt. Ours do the opposite. Each site names and allows the crawlers that search engines and AI assistants send out to read pages and cite them in answers.
Being readable is half of it. The other half is being clear. Every site states its facts plainly, starting with what you do and where you do it. Your FAQ page answers real questions in a sentence or two before adding detail, which is the shape AI answers are built from.
When you change a page from your login, the site sends a notice to IndexNow. That is the service Bing and several other search engines use to hear about changes quickly. Google picks changes up from the sitemap. There is also a plain-text summary of the business at a standard address (llms.txt) for the AI tools that look for one, and a small read-only feed of your business details for AI agents.
An accessible website works for someone using a screen reader, and for someone who moves around a page with a keyboard instead of a mouse. It is also the right thing to do for your customers.
Before launch, every page is checked with axe, a widely used automated accessibility tester, at desktop and phone sizes. Any serious or critical problem holds the launch. Text colors are checked for contrast so they stay readable, and every form field has a proper label. Each site also includes an accessibility statement page.
Automated testing cannot catch everything. It does catch the common problems before a customer ever meets them, and if anyone reports a problem, we fix it.
Every site runs on HTTPS with a security certificate, so browsers show the padlock. An old http address forwards to the secure one. The server tells browsers to always use the secure connection (a setting called HSTS). It also sends the standard security headers that stop other sites framing your pages or slipping in scripts.
Contact forms are guarded against spam bots by Cloudflare Turnstile, which usually checks quietly in the background with no puzzle to solve, plus a hidden trap field that only bots fill in. Sites run behind Cloudflare's network.
With no plugins installed, there is no plugin to fall behind on security fixes. We keep the software that runs your site current ourselves.
Every site we build has to pass six automated reviews before it launches. A failure in any one holds the site until it is fixed, and then the checks run again.
Reviews the site the way a customer uses it. On a phone your number must be one tap away without scrolling, and every page must ask for the call or the message.
Titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, the sitemap and robots rules are checked page by page. It confirms the AI crawlers above are allowed in.
An editor pass flags filler phrases and repeated sentences, along with the stock patterns that make text read as machine-written. Your pages should sound like someone who knows the trade.
Every link, page, image and redirect is followed the way a search engine crawler would follow it. No broken links, and nothing in the sitemap that should not be there.
PageSpeed Insights runs on every page, mobile and desktop. All four categories must reach 100.
Each page is opened in a real browser at desktop and phone sizes and checked for errors and sideways scrolling. The HTML is validated and the accessibility test runs. Forms and security headers get tested too.
Most of the work on a website happens after it launches. Here is what we set up during the build and keep running for you all year.
We verify your site with Google Search Console and submit its sitemap during the build, so Google knows the site exists from launch day.
Google Analytics is installed before launch, so visits are counted from the very first visitor.
We update the platform your site runs on, and the security certificate renews on its own. There is nothing for you to install or patch.
Pick one of eleven distinct designs on the order form. Each one has a live example site you can look around first, listed above.
Only what you told us goes on the page. No invented reviews, licenses, awards or years in business, and no stock promises your business cannot keep.
If you advertise on our card, the QR code printed on your ad can open your website directly, and we count every scan for you.
DIY site builders are good products. They give you templates, hosting and a security certificate, along with settings for search. For an owner who enjoys building, they are a sensible choice. The difference is who does the work and who checks it.

Builders differ, and their features change over time. This compares the work involved, not any one product.
The website is one flat price a year with everything in it: the writing, the design, the hosting, the security certificate, the backups and your login. There is no setup fee and no monthly bill.
It renews automatically each year on the same card, so your site never goes offline because a renewal was missed. We email you 30, 14 and 3 days before every renewal. You can turn automatic renewal off at any time from the link in those emails. If you do, the site stays up until the end of the year you paid for.
If your business needs more than our six-page website, we can quote custom work. We build custom websites from $2,500 to $100,000, depending on what the site has to do. Anything is possible.
For a quote, call (888) 348-1992 or email hello@postcardadvantage.com.
$499
per year, renews automatically
None of these is needed for your website and none is included in its price. They are for owners who want to know how many calls the site brings, and to catch the ones they miss. Add them on the order form, or later from your account.
A local number of your own, picked by you, shows on your website in place of your phone number and rings straight through to you. We count every call the site brings and email you about any you miss. Nothing is recorded. Your Google listing keeps your own number, so your listings stay consistent.
A virtual assistant for the calls you cannot take. It says it is your virtual assistant, takes a message and we email it to you within seconds. It never quotes prices or books jobs, and calls are never recorded. It requires call tracking: $99 a year on top, $148 a year for both.
Included with call tracking if you want them: a text when you miss a call, or when your assistant takes a message. Off unless you switch them on, and you can stop them at any time.
For phones that ring all day there is busy call tracking, $149 a year instead of $49 a year, with 5,000 forwarded minutes a year, and the busy receptionist, $249 a year instead of $99 a year, with 1,000 messages a year. Each part upgrades on its own, for the difference. How call tracking works · How the AI receptionist works
We do, from what you tell us on the form. There is no approval step: your site goes live as soon as it is built, and if you see anything you want changed, tell us and we change it.
24 to 48 hours from payment. It goes live as soon as it is built, and we email you the link. If you are using a domain you already own, it goes live once the two settings we send you are changed.
Yes. Tell us which domain on the form. We send you the two settings to change, and we check them before anything goes live, including that your existing email keeps working.
Yes. You get a login where you can change any text, price, photo or phone number, whenever you like, without being able to break the design.
No. Hosting, the security certificate, backups and updates are ours. The site renews on its own each year, and we remind you beforehand.
Once a year, on the same card. We email you thirty, fourteen and three days before, with a link to update the card or turn automatic renewal off.
The site stays up until the end of the year you have paid for, then it stops. Your domain is yours either way.
You can, and it will cost less a month. You will also design it, write it, and keep it running yourself, for as long as you have it. This is for businesses that would rather spend that time on the work.
If you send them, yes, and we would rather. If you do not have any, we create a clean image for each page so the site looks finished.
Only what you tell us. If you do not tell us you are licensed, insured or award winning, the site will not say so. Anything you leave out, we simply leave out.
If you want to. The form has a place for your services and prices, and they appear on your services page. Leave them out and the page lists your services without prices.
The websites are built for the businesses on our cards, because a card works better when people who look you up find something. Ask us if you are not on a card yet.
Yes. Your site gets its own address (hello@ your domain), and everything sent to it arrives in the email you already use. There is nothing to set up and no new mailbox to check. Replies go straight back to the sender. If you already have email on your domain, we leave it exactly as it is and check it still works after the switch.
Yes. Most people who look you up after seeing a card do it on a phone, so every page is built to read well and load quickly there first, with your number one tap away.
Then ask us for a quote. Beyond the six-page website, we take on custom builds priced from $2,500 up to $100,000, set by the size of the job. Anything is possible. Call us at (888) 348-1992 or email hello@postcardadvantage.com and tell us what you have in mind.
You can change and add to what is on your six pages at any time from your login. If you need something beyond that, reply to any of our emails and we will talk it through with you.
It gives you the strongest footing we know how to build. Every page is set up for search, and we submit the site to Google through Search Console before launch. Where you appear also depends on your Google Business Profile, your reviews and how many nearby businesses do the same work, so nobody can honestly promise a position.
They are allowed to read it. Your site names and allows the crawlers used by ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, and it states your facts in plain sentences an assistant can quote. Whether an assistant mentions you for a given question is up to that assistant, so we make you easy to find and describe accurately without promising a mention.
Schema is structured data: a hidden block on each page that gives search engines the facts about your business in a standard format. You do not need to do anything. It comes from your details, and it follows along when you change those details from your login.
Fast enough to pass Google's own test. Before launch, every page must score 100 out of 100 on PageSpeed Insights in all four categories, on both mobile and desktop.
It is built and tested for it. Every page is checked with an automated accessibility tester at desktop and phone sizes before launch, and the site includes an accessibility statement. If anyone reports a problem, we fix it.
Yes, both during the build. Your site is verified in Google Search Console with its sitemap submitted, and Google Analytics is installed so visits are counted from the first day.
Yes. It runs on HTTPS with a certificate that renews on its own. Its forms are protected from spam bots, and there are no plugins to fall out of date.
No, not unless they are real reviews we can show. We never add star ratings to your pages or to the structured data behind them. Reviews your customers leave on Google stay on your Google Business Profile, where people already look for them.
Yes, as an optional extra paid separately: call tracking is $49 a year. A local number of your own shows on your website in place of your phone number and rings straight through to you. We count the calls and email you about any you miss. Nothing is recorded.
No. Only what visitors see on the page changes. Your Google Business Profile keeps your own number, and so does the business information built into the site for search engines, so your name, address and phone stay the same everywhere they are listed.
Both are optional. The AI receptionist is an add-on that requires call tracking: it takes a message when you cannot take a call, for $99 a year on top of call tracking ($148 a year for both). Text alerts are included with call tracking if you want them. Add any of them on the order form or later from your account.
The form takes about ten minutes, and most of it is optional. Send what you have, and we will build the rest from it.
