Postcard Advantage - Advertising that can't be ignored.

Terms

Terms of Service

The terms you agree to when you use the Postcard Advantage website. They are written to be readable, not to trip you up: this site is here to inform you and to help you get in touch.

What these terms cover

These terms apply to this website and to the purchase of advertising space on a shared postcard we print and mail. They do not cover any other service, and nothing here creates an obligation to provide work of any other kind.

What you are buying

One advertiser slot on a specified card, in a specified mailing zone, for a single mailing. The slot includes the design of your ad, its place in the print run, the postage for that zone, the postal preparation and paperwork. Your ad carries your own web address and phone number and, unless you switch it off, a QR code that opens your website or page and counts the scans for you. It does not include a website or hosting. Where we offer one, a simple landing page for your offer is included for three months after the card mails.

Category exclusivity means one business per category on that card. It applies to that card and that mailing only. It is not a territory, it does not reserve the category on future cards, and it cannot be waived by agreement between two advertisers in the same category.

Payment, the fill date and refunds

Slots are paid in full when reserved. Until a card locks, that money is refundable and is treated as money owed back rather than as revenue.

Every card carries a date by which it must reach its advertiser count, and that date is on your confirmation before you pay. If the card has not filled by then, you choose: a full refund, or you stay with the card and receive a credit of 20% of what you paid, applied to a future booking. The credit becomes redeemable when that card mails. If the card is abandoned rather than mailed, the credit is void and you are refunded instead. You will never hold both.

Artwork and approval

We design your ad and send you a proof showing it in position on the card. Nothing goes to press without your written approval. Once you have approved a proof and the card has gone to press, the ad cannot be changed for that mailing.

You may supply finished artwork instead, provided it is print ready at the correct dimensions. You are responsible for holding the rights to anything you supply, including logos, photographs and any claim, price or offer the ad makes. The finished print-ready file for your slot is yours, and we will send it to you on request.

What we will not print

We decline advertising that is unlawful, misleading, or that we believe we could not defend if a reader complained. We may also decline an offer we think is too thin to be worth printing, and we will say so rather than take the booking quietly.

Your ad is your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content of your ad and everything you supply for it: every claim, price, offer, credential, testimonial, image and line of small print. That includes making sure it complies with every law, regulation and professional or licensing rule that applies to your business, including the rules on advertising for health care, legal, financial and other regulated services. We lay out and print the ad you approve. We do not review it for legal compliance and we do not give legal advice.

Approving a proof is your confirmation that the ad is accurate, lawful and yours to publish. If a claim is made against us because of the content of your ad, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and any liability that results.

Delivery and what we do not control

Cards are delivered by the United States Postal Service under Every Door Direct Mail. Mail dates are targets, not guarantees: once a card is lodged, delivery timing is in the hands of USPS, and weather, postal volume and route staffing all affect it. We do not guarantee that any particular household receives, reads, or responds to a card, and we do not guarantee any level of response, enquiry or sale.

Measuring the response

Unless you switch it off, your ad carries its own QR code. Scans go through this site, are counted once per phone per half hour, exclude link previews and automated crawlers, and are shown to you as a total, a count by day and the share from phones. A scan count is a floor, not a measure of everyone who responded. Every card also asks the reader to mention it when they call, and we encourage an offer unique to the card. Where your slot has a landing page, requests made on it are sent to you and counted. After a card mails we ask you how it did; any figure we show you is built from what you tell us, and any measurement of a card's performance is ultimately yours, from your own records.

Call tracking and the AI receptionist: plans and fair use

Call tracking ($49 a year) includes up to 1,500 forwarded minutes a year per number; busy call tracking ($149 a year) includes 5,000. The AI receptionist is a separate add-on ($99 a year) that requires an active call tracking number; it includes up to 300 messages a year, and the busy receptionist ($249 a year) includes 1,000. Each is its own yearly subscription, renews automatically and can be canceled on its own; if call tracking ends, the AI receptionist ends with it on the same day and any unused part of its year is refunded. Minutes are the time a call is forwarded to your phone, including the "Press 1 to accept" prompt; a message is a call the assistant took a message for, complete or partial. The year starts again when your plan renews. Nothing is ever cut off if you go over: calls keep ringing through and the assistant keeps answering. If a number regularly uses more than its plan includes, we will let you know and suggest the busy version of that part, which you can switch to from your account for the difference.

Text alerts (SMS)

If you use call tracking you can choose to receive text alerts from our toll-free number (888) 998-7771: a confirmation when you sign up, a text for each message our AI receptionist takes for you and, if you ask for it, a text for each missed call. Up to about one text per call and at most 20 a day per number. Signing up is optional, is never a condition of buying anything, and is done only by you, on your account page or at call tracking checkout. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies with the calls you receive.

Reply STOP to any text to stop them, START to have them back, and HELP for help, or contact us on (888) 348-1992 or at hello@postcardadvantage.com. You can also switch them off on your account page. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Texts are a convenience on top of the email we send about each message and missed call, not a replacement for it. Your mobile number is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy and is never shared for marketing.

Your data

How we handle information is set out in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or trade enquiries.

The site itself

We work to keep this site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error free or uninterrupted, and we may change it at any time. Prices shown are the current rate card and can change for future cards; the price for a slot you have already paid for does not.

Liability

Our responsibility for any claim connected with a booking is limited to the amount you paid for that slot. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profit or lost business, arising from a card's performance or its delivery timing.

Questions about these terms

If anything here is unclear, or you want to check how it applies to a booking, send us a message before you pay and we will answer it plainly.
