Direct mail, explainedThe Postcard Advantage blog
Plain answers about shared postcard advertising: what a drop actually costs, which carrier routes are worth mailing, and how to tell afterward whether it worked.
Why we publish this
Most of what is written about direct mail is written by people selling direct mail, and it shows. The numbers are vague, the case studies are unattributed, and the answer to every question turns out to be "buy more mail."
These posts try to be the opposite of that. Where there is a real number we publish it, including postage rates and print costs you can check against the USPS price list yourself. Where shared mail is the wrong tool for a business we say so, because a card that goes out with the wrong advertiser on it costs us a renewal and costs you several hundred dollars.
Nothing here is gated and nothing asks for an email address. If you read a post, decide mail is not for you and never call us, the post did its job.
